Rep. Keresa Richardson authored HJR 136, which proposed a constitutional amendment to protect private schools, including home schools, from state and local regulation.

It would ensure that children educated in these settings remain independent of government oversight - as it should be.

The bill died in House Public Education Committee, chaired by Republican Brad Buckley, without a hearing.
