HJR 160 proposes a constitutional amendment to grant the Attorney General concurrent jurisdiction with county and district attorneys to prosecute criminal offenses related to the election laws of Texas. HB 2272 strengthens voter registration integrity by requiring registrars to send written confirmation notices to voters whose addresses appear to be commercial post office boxes, those who have not voted in the past 25 months, or where there is a reason to believe the registered residence differs from the recorded address. This measure is aimed at ensuring voter roll accuracy.
